flarePDF is built the way a document tool should be: your files never leave your device. This page explains exactly what that means, and what little information the site does handle.

How your files are handled

• Your PDFs are opened, edited and written by JavaScript running in this browser tab.
• No file, page, or fragment of a document is sent to a server at any point.
• There is no account system, so there is nothing to sign up for and nothing to delete.
• Once the page has loaded, the tools keep working with no network connection at all.
• Files disappear from memory when you close or reload the tab.

You can check this yourself: open your browser’s network inspector, edit a document, and watch that nothing goes out.

What the site stores

One thing: your light or dark theme choice, kept in this browser’s local storage. It never leaves the device and is not tied to any identifier.

Fonts and assets

Every script, stylesheet and font is served from the same domain as the site, so loading a page does not tell any third party that you were here.

Things to keep in mind

The whiteout tool paints over content rather than deleting it, so it is not a substitute for proper redaction. When you edit a paragraph in the PDF editor, flarePDF removes the original text from the file wherever it safely can, and covers it otherwise. If a document contains something genuinely sensitive, check the exported file before sharing it.

Whoever hosts this site may keep ordinary web server logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp). That is outside the application itself and never contains your documents.
